BRIAN CAULFIELD

Brian Caulfield is an entrepreneur and venture capitalist based in Dublin, Ireland. A Computer Engineering graduate of Trinity College Dublin, he is a Partner at the venture capital firm Draper Esprit. Prior to joining Draper Esprit, Brian was a partner at Trinity Venture Capital. Brian is a private investor/advisor in a number of early stage technology companies, and sits on the Boards of Clavis Technology and The Irish Times, Ireland's leading newspaper. He was the 2007 recipient of the Irish Software Association’s 'Technology Person of the Year' award. In 2010 he also received the Halo Business Angel Network’s 'Business Angel of the Year' award and has been inducted into the Irish Internet Association Hall of Fame. Brian is the current Chairman of the Irish Venture Capital Association.

Brian joined the Ashoka Support Network in 2012 and has worked with Ashoka Fellow Sascha Haselmayer on an Irish entry strategy for Citymart.

BRIAN RANALOW

Brian was C.E.O. of H&K International for 15 years and now serves as non-executive chairman of the H&K Group.  An Engineering graduate from Trinity College, Dublin, he has worked in research and management positions in the U.K. and Ireland. H&K International is a leading global supplier of turn-key integrated equipment and service solutions to the quick-service restaurant industry in more than 70 countries, employing over 1,300 people worldwide. Customers include McDonald’s, Burgerking, Subway, and other smaller chains.

Brian is also chairman of Hanpak Ltd., an Irish start-up company with a world-wide patent to produce a revolutionary design of lidless paper cup. Brian joined the Ashoka Support Network in 2015.

LADY BRITTA WILKINSON

Originally from Germany, Britta Wilkinson is a partner at financial services company Buchanan AG. She worked for many years in the hotel management industry in Germany, as well financial services firm AFB, in Munich, before launching her own technology training business in 1997. Britta and her husband Steven Wilkinson were among the first ASN Members to join the network in Germany, and have been supporters of the ASN in Ireland since moving to Greystones, Co. Wicklow, in 2015.

CATHERINE DUFFY

Catherine Duffy is a Senior Partner in the Banking and Financial Services Department and Head of Aircraft Finance at A&L Goodbody. She received her BA from Trinity College Dublin, and is a Solicitor in the Law Society of Ireland. Catherine Duffy joined the Ashoka Support Network in March 2014.

CONOR STANLEY

Conor Stanley founded Tribal VC, a venture firm and co-location hub investing and working alongside the next wave of exceptional Irish technology startups. The fund, co-led by Tadhg O’Toole and Barry Mulligan, has 70 desk spaces for start-ups - including the Ashoka Ireland office - and is based in Dublin 2. Conor joined the Ashoka Support Network in August 2013.

DENIS TINSLEY

Originally from Dublin, Denis Tinsley is a former Director at McKinsey & Co., and he has been a venture capital investor and coach to several small companies since 2004. Denis has been a supporter of Ashoka for many years and joined the Ashoka Support Network in 2013.

EAMONN CONLON

Eamonn Conlon has specialised in construction for more than 20 years, and been involved in many of the largest projects undertaken in Ireland. Before joining A&L Goodbody, Eamonn practised as a construction lawyer in California and with a leading UK firm. He began his legal career at the Irish Bar. Eamonn joined the Ashoka Support Network in 2015.

FAYE DROUILLARD

Originally from the US, Faye consults for social enterprise, non-profit and small business clients in Europe and the US. A former Executive Director of the Freedom Writers Foundation, she has experience providing management and fundraising guidance to start-ups and social purpose organisations. She recently founded The Giving Circle of Amsterdam to inspire a new generation of philanthropists. Faye has supported Ashoka in the US and the Netherlands, and joined the ASN in Dublin in 2015.

GAR HOLOHAN

Gar Holohan is an architect specialising in sport and entertainment design. He is the Founder and Director of Aura Holohan Group, an architecture and design firm. Aura is a long-time partner of Kanchi, founded by Ashoka Fellow Caroline Casey. Since collaborating, Aura has since become a multi award-winning company for customer service, recruitment and training for people with disabilities, with the ethos embedded throughout the organisation. Gar joined the Ashoka Ireland Support Network in 2011.

GARETH MORGAN

Gareth Morgan is a Senior Director and Head of Advertiser Services for EMEA at Google. Gareth has been involved in internet marketing for nearly 10 years and has promoted hundreds of websites. Gareth joined the Ashoka Support Network in May 2013.

JIM BARRY

Jim Barry is currently serving as Chief Investment Officer of BlackRock’s renewable power group. He is on the Council of Patrons of Special Olympics Ireland and is a board member of The Ireland Funds. He also sits on a number of advisory boards within Harvard Business School and University College Cork. Jim joined the Ashoka Support Network in 2011.

JOHN WHELAN

John Whelan is a Partner and leads the International Technology Practice at A&L Goodbody as Resident Partner and Head of its San Francisco and Palo Alto Offices. John heads up the IP & Technology Team based in Dublin, the largest of its kind in Ireland. John joined the Ashoka Support Network in August 2013.

KEVIN NEARY

Originally from Dublin, Kevin is a co-founder of the GameStop Group, acquired by an NYSE company. He sits on several boards and serves as Non-Executive Director with the Institute of Directors in Ireland. He is an investor in several tech-driven startups. Kevin has been a supporter of Ashoka for several years, and joined the Ashoka Support Network in 2014.

MICHAEL CAULFIELD

Michael spent 28 years working in the enterprise software space, most recently as Vice President of Development Tools & Technology at Workday. Prior to Workday, Michael worked in a variety of engineering and management roles at PeopleSoft. Early in his career, Michael worked in enterprise software consulting at KPMG in London and Price Waterhouse in San Francisco. Michael joined the Ashoka Support Network in 2013.

NEIL O'LEARY

Originally from Dublin, Neil is CEO of Ion Equity, an investment company best known for creating Topaz, the multi-billion Euro fuel supply business. He served as Senior Executive of the London Stock Exchange before becoming an investment banker and Director for the Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS). He sits on several nonprofit boards. Neil has been a supporter of Ashoka since 2014 and joined the Ashoka Ireland Advisory Board in 2015.

NOEL RUANE

Noel Ruane is a Venture Partner with Polaris Partners and leads the firm’s European investment activities whilst based in Dublin, Ireland. In addition to his Polaris investments, Noel is an active leader in Dublin’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and an advisor to multiple early stage companies and projects both in Europe and the US. He is a founding board member of the CoderDojo Foundation. Noel joined the Ashoka Support Network in March 2016.

PATRICK COVENEY

Patrick Coveney has been the CEO of Greencore since 2007 and was appointed President of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce in 2012. Before joining Greencore, Mr. Coveney was managing partner at the Irish office of international management consultants McKinsey & Company. Patrick joined the Ashoka Support Network in January 2014.

PAUL SULLIVAN

Paul Sullivan is a non-executive director of several investment fund groups and has over forty years international and domestic professional experience in banking and finance. In his full time working career, he spent over ten years as an executive director of the Irish sovereign debt management office, the National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA), which he helped to establish in 1991. Paul joined the Ashoka Support Network in January 2016.

ROGER JUPP

Roger Jupp began his career in market research in London. Over more than 30 years in Ireland, he has accumulated extensive quantitative and qualitative experience, in virtually every product and service area. He served for years as Chairman for the British multinational market research firm Millward Brown, and now serves as an independent Research Consultant. Roger joined the Ashoka Support Network in May 2013, and has since played an integral role in developing the work of Slow Food and Siel Bleu in Ireland.

SIR STEVEN WILKINSON

Originally from the UK, Steven is Founder and CEO at Buchanan AG, a financial services company based in Germany. He has also held positions at Merrill Lynch International and at Hartz, Regehr & Partner GmbH. He now lives in Dublin. Steven & his wife Britta have been supporters of Ashoka since 2003, and were among the first ASN members to join Ashoka Germany. Steven joined the Ashoka Ireland network in 2015.

TIM GRIFFITHS

Tim Griffiths is Managing Director at OMD Ireland. Before joining OMD in 2005, Mr. Griffiths was Managing Director at Initiative Media Dublin. Tim has been a supporter of Ashoka since the launch of the Ireland office, and has been a member of the Ashoka Support Network since 2013.

TOM MCGOWAN

Originally from Dublin, Tom retired from the position of Marketing Director of Unilever’s  Home and Personal Care Division in 2005. A past President of the Association of Advertisers in Ireland, Tom is currently a mentor on the Marketing Development Programme in the UCD Smurfit Business School. Tom has been a supporter of Ashoka since the launch of the Ireland office and has been a member of the Ashoka Support Network since 2013.

EAMONN QUINN

Eamonn Quinn is a retail technology investor. He was originally from the Superquinn supermarket chain until its sale in 2005. In recent years, he has been a judge on RTE's Dragons' Den. The family set up the Quinn Family foundation after the sale of the business supporting a range of organisations both in Ireland and abroad.

LORRAINE QUINN

Lorraine Quinn, in addition to being a homemaker for three children, is a foodie having trained with Darina Allen in Ballymaloe. Lorraine has a keen interest in Art and Art History and has been active in the foundations activities.
