Ashoka Scandinavia Intern Position

Ashoka is the global association of the world’s leading social entrepreneurs - men and women with system changing solutions for the world’s most urgent social problems. Since 1981, we have elected nearly 3000 leading social entrepreneurs as Ashoka Fellows, providing them with living stipends, professional support, and access to a global network of peers in 70 countries. The Ashoka Fellows inspire others to adopt and spread their innovations - demonstrating to all citizens that they too have the potential to be powerful changemakers. Ashoka strives to shape a global, entrepreneurial, competitive citizen sector: one that allows social entrepreneurs to thrive and enables the world’s citizens to think and act as changemakers. In 2008 Ashoka announced its plans to launch in Denmark, Norway and Sweden, and now we are looking for one intern that can be a part of launching Ashoka Scandinavia.

Assignment:
Tasks
- Coordinating and assisting with Ashoka Scandinavia programmes in Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm
- Assisting in research around the search and selection of new social entrepreneurs in Scandinavia
- Assisting in daily communication and help increasing the awareness and understanding of social entrepreneurship and Ashoka’s vision for “Everyone a changemaker”

Profile:
Experience
- History of starting up own projects and initiatives
- Previous experience in the social/NGO sector is a merit
- Broadly and passionately interested in social change
- Highly developed creative problem-solving, analytical and writing skills
- English and Swedish fluent in writing and speaking, one other Scandinavian language is a merit

Personality:

• Confident and independent in solving tasks
